Inspired by knights – Medieval Istria

The stone castle Grimani is the best preserved castle on the peninsula of Istria. Morosini – Grimani Castle is today a newly renovated and revitalized castle dating from the 13th century. The castle used to be the destination for tradesmen, soldiers, aristocracy guests and travel writers, and today it attracts curious passer-byes and tourists. The castle had a large yard, an apartment for the town steward, a warehouse for payments in kind and ammunition, rooms for 200 musketeers and lancers and a very safe prison – under the ground. Today, here is complementary gallery, multimedia exhibit, conference venue and Captain’s Room on the top with an alluring view that reaches to the sea. In addition, the Castle hosts the unique escape game known as “Escape Castle Svetvinčenat”, where up to 35 players can test their skills as a knight. Divided into teams, players compete by unraveling the secret of the unknown knight.

Another impressive medieval St. Michael wooden castle stretches on a beautiful estate near complemented by interesting medieval devices, from a children’s carousel, mini castle, giant slingshot, all the way to the dragon tower and archery tower, where visitors can try archery with a real medieval bow and arrow! You can also hang out with domestic animals, and finally refresh yourself with local dishes.
